“Let's begin with a little joy!”

Read the editorial feature on Manpreet Kaur at the Musée Living Journal. Manpreet Kaur has exhibited at Musée Art Café, Dehradun — where KalaCUBE began.

Manpreet Kaur is an artist and mother based in Dehradun, working in the visual-art tradition from her own studio space. "My medium is photography and painting," she writes, and her invitation is as warm as it is simple: "Let's begin with a little joy!" — a fitting motto for a practice built on close, affectionate attention to everyday subjects.

Her paintings move confidently across subjects and materials. Backyard of campus is an acrylic; Still life is worked in dry pastels on pastel paper; Portrait is watercolour on paper; and the recurring Cheers to the opened one is painted in oil on canvas across several versions. Her Musée Living feature reads those variations as an artist "circling an idea from different angles, testing what changes," with a steady hand working within classical traditions and each canvas carrying "the trace of a decision made by a living hand."

Manpreet is part of the community of artists connected to Musée Art Café in Dehradun, the Musée Living venture that KalaCUBE grew out of. If her steady, joyful hand appeals to you, explore her studio work and collect a piece below.
