Ankita Gupta

Ankita Gupta works in macramé, and she speaks about the craft with real affection: "Macramé is featherweight and weightless, a pared-down piece of art created from simpler forms." Inspired by that simple beauty and by the warmth of the holiday season, she creates handcraft pieces that speak to macramé's fundamental idea — balance.

Her practice comes with a conscience, too. Her work is made, in her words, "with zero waste, environmentally friendly, sustainable, plastic-free fabric" — and made in India.
