Dr. Anmol Mahani

Dr. Anmol Mahani makes art from a place few of us ever see up close. A cancer specialist by profession, she describes a workflow that fills up with colours needing an outlet — emotions and paint pressed into the same act. Bound to the daily reality of cancer treatment, its cures and its hardships, she draws the art out in its most raw form.

She is candid about that rawness. "My paintings aren't professional but raw and dark, bringing the pain to life," she says — and that honesty is the point. Hers is a handcrafted, deeply personal practice where feeling comes before polish.

You can sense it in the titles themselves, which read almost like lines from a journal: Red is love, Red is also pain..! If Red bleeds, Red heals; Earth breaks you to grow you out. Of the rust you survive.!; and Blue calms the calmness you once thought never existed. A work simply called Hope sits among them, holding the other side of the same story.
