Archita Rauthan

Archita Rauthan is a self-taught visual artist from Uttarakhand who describes her practice simply: "playing with colours and thoughts are my favourite thing." She works her brush across different mediums and lets each one "bring out the 'me' in my art" — an approach that gives her collection its unhurried, personal feel, and one she extends to anyone browsing with an easy invitation to "have a look at my pieces and make it yours."

Colour, phase by phase

Her work moves between the cosmic and the intimate. Moon glory is painted in watercolours and gouache on aquarelle paper; Pisces energy layers watercolour, gouache and acrylics; Bee-coming and Living reach for acrylics on stretched canvas, carrying summery and natural themes; while Breathe returns to pure watercolour on a cold-pressed aquarelle sheet, themed simply around emotion. Her Musée Living feature captures this spirit well, describing an artist content "to sit with a single canvas, a single idea, and let it unfold slowly, imperfectly, humanly," unafraid to revisit a theme and let it evolve through each iteration.
