“Figure-ing Out ”

Our drawing style, "Scribbling" reflects the idea of Originality. We link our childhood passion with our imagination and describe our thoughts through scribbled lines and not words. We specialize in Scribble figurative artwork, made in ink, charcoal, & pen art. Sounds Interesting? Check us out :)

Read the editorial feature on The Portray at the Musée Living Journal. The Portray has exhibited at Musée Art Café, Dehradun — where KalaCUBE began.

The Portray works in a language all its own — a drawing style called "Scribbling" that links a childhood passion to adult imagination, describing thoughts through scribbled lines rather than words. The result is scribble figurative artwork, made in ink, charcoal and pen, built up line by patient line into recognisable, deeply human faces.

That commitment to the human face is clearest in the Sincere Women Series, a run of six works that explore womanhood, presence and quiet dignity. Across Sincere Women Series #1 through #6 the subjects are never idealized and never performing for the viewer — they are rendered with the kind of attention that only comes from someone who has really looked at another person. Ink gives way to pen, and in later pieces to pen and acrylic, but the observation stays constant.

The Portray's work reached its first audiences through Musée Living and the Musée Art Café in Dehradun, the community roots that KalaCUBE was built to carry forward.
