Craft with meaning, one letter at a time

Geetanjali Dhiman is a Dehradun-based calligraphy artist and hand-crafted gift maker whose practice sits right where visual art meets handicraft. "Lockdown has gifted me this art," she says of a craft that now runs through everything she makes — home decor items, wooden wall hangings, acrylic plaques and decorative name plates, each open to personalization on almost any surface.

There is a devotion to both craft and meaning in her work. मृत्युंजय मंत्र, an ancient invocation for healing and resilience, and her Om piece carry sacred syllables in careful hand-lettering, while the Live Love Laugh Wooden Wall Hanging, Self Love Quote Frame and Inspiration Quote Frame turn simple words into something closer to a talisman. Wood, paint and lettering come together with the kind of care that makes each object feel personal.

Dhiman's pieces have been shown at the Musée Art Café in Dehradun and featured through Musée Living — the community roots from which KalaCUBE grew.
