“Abstract Art, Landscape, Sketch-art”

Being a lawyer by profession, I seek solace in art. Indulging myself in art brings respite from the chaotic humdrums of everyday life and therefore, each piece holds a special place for me. If the story each piece speaks resonates with you, never hesitate to bring it to your walls

Read the editorial feature on Jaikriti Sinh Jadeja at the Musée Living Journal. Jaikriti Sinh Jadeja has exhibited at Musée Art Café, Dehradun — where KalaCUBE began.

Jaikriti Jadeja is a visual artist whose practice is, by her own account, a refuge. "Being a lawyer by profession, I seek solace in art," she writes. "Indulging myself in art brings respite from the chaotic humdrums of everyday life, and therefore each piece holds a special place for me." That personal stake shows in the range she works across — abstract, landscape and sketch-art — and in the care each piece carries.

She is especially fluent in dry media and pastels. Black Beauty and Dancing Feet are charcoal-pencil studies, one on an equestrian theme, the other on dance; Dusk and Twilight glow in oil pastels and are offered as art prints; Ms Hat is worked in soft pastels; and The Wreck is an oil colour on framed canvas. Together they trace an artist who moves comfortably between the hush of charcoal and the warmth of pastel and oil, each piece made in a quiet, considered mood.

Jaikriti is part of the artist community linked to Musée Art Café in Dehradun, the Musée Living venture that KalaCUBE grew out of. As she says, if "the story each piece speaks resonates with you, never hesitate to bring it to your walls" — you can explore and collect her work on KalaCUBE.
