Parmendra Singh is a visual artist who paints to stay whole. "Love of art is only thing which makes me happy in the rat run of corporate," he writes — the words of an "engineer with creative mind" who keeps a brush close at hand. Painting is his counterweight to the working day, and it shows in the deliberate care he brings to each piece rather than in any rush to produce.
His small, focused collection ranges easily across subject and medium. Legend is a sports-themed watercolour on 300gsm A3 paper; Pink dress is another watercolour study, tender and observed; and Golden horse is an acrylic on canvas. It is a compact portfolio, but a genuine one — a handful of works made purely for the love of making them, each finished with the patience of someone for whom this is time reclaimed.
