Prerna Joshi

From Uttarakhand, Prerna Joshi has been on her painting journey since 2016. She works across different mediums, but gouache is her first love — and it shows in the way she paints, as she puts it, "beautiful green landscapes and magical forests." For her, painting is "a beautiful way to get out of your head and listen to your soul."

Her world is green and quietly enchanted. Pieces like The Old Tree Trunk, Giant Rocks Painting, and Magical Landscape Illustration conjure the atmosphere of forests and wild places, built up in the soft, matte layers that gouache does so well. A charcoal study sits among the gouache works too, showing an artist happy to move between mediums as a scene demands.

There is nothing hurried or automated here — just a maker returning again and again to nature and to colour, refining her instinct with each new landscape.
