“A fresh art for fresh start”

Read the editorial feature on Saloni Rana at the Musée Living Journal. Saloni Rana has exhibited at Musée Art Café, Dehradun — where KalaCUBE began.

Saloni Rana is a painter from Uttarakhand whose work draws on a lineage of Indian folk and decorative art, offering, in the spirit of her own tagline, a fresh art for a fresh start. Rather than explain herself in words, she lets the paintings carry a tactile sincerity — the sense of thousands of tiny choices about how much pressure to apply, when to let colour bleed, and when to pull back.

Her subjects move gently between the spiritual and the natural. Buddha Painting reaches toward stillness, while Traditional Bird Painting and Flower Painting lean into the decorative, folk-rooted motifs she clearly loves. Tree View and her two Landscape studies open the work outward to the world around her. Each piece is handmade, with all the warmth that implies.

Saloni's connection to KalaCUBE runs especially deep: her work has been shown at the Musée Art Café in Dehradun, the very place from which the platform grew, alongside Musée Living. We warmly invite you to explore her folk-inspired paintings and to collect a piece that carries that handmade, home-grown spirit.
