“Art heals, nurtures, amuses and keeps us alive in true sense.”
I am a self-taught artist who passionate about all forms of arts however I find myself more inclined towards realistic paintings, depicting nature and its best creation, humans. For me art is meditation and at the same time entertainment. It keeps me going and gives my life a reason.
Shilpi Sinha is a self-taught artist drawn to all forms of art, though she finds herself most at home in realistic painting — depicting nature and, as she puts it, "its best creation, humans." For her, art is both meditation and entertainment: "it keeps me going and gives my life a reason." Her headline says the rest — art heals, nurtures, amuses, and keeps us alive in the truest sense.
Her subjects range widely while staying rooted in close observation. Portrait of a Danseuse studies the human figure with care, while Still Life and her Remake of 'Flowers in a Vase' return to classic painterly traditions. Place enters her work too, in pieces like Kolkata and Rishikesh that hold onto the character of the cities she paints.
Across all of it, hers is unhurried, hand-made work — realism approached as a practice of patience and attention rather than a race to a finish.
Shilpi is part of the community of artists gathered by KalaCUBE, which grew from Musée Living's Musée Art Café in Dehradun into a home for real, human-made art. We warmly invite you to explore her paintings and to give one a place in your home. Discover more at kalacube.com/artist/shilp_art.
