Read the editorial feature on Smriti Rana at the Musée Living Journal. Smriti Rana has exhibited at Musée Art Café, Dehradun — where KalaCUBE began.

Smriti Rana works across both visual art and handicraft, and for her art has always been a way to grow — something, she says, that keeps her soul in harmony. That lived, personal charge is the through-line of a practice that moves fluidly between moods and registers rather than settling into a single visual formula.

Her KalaCUBE collection shows that range in different materials. The Thunder Girl, on canvas, has an energy that feels almost electric, while The Lavender Hue, worked in embroidery thread, is softer and more contemplative. Home Sweet Home feels personal in the way only handmade art can, and Alphabet plays with structure and meaning to invite the viewer’s own reading. As her Musée Living feature puts it, art born from lived experience carries a charge no prompt-generated image can replicate.

That belief is the foundation of KalaCUBE, the marketplace grown from Musée Living and displayed at the Musée Art Café in Dehradun. Smriti’s hand-painted and hand-stitched work belongs among its makers.
