Shraddha Bahukhandi

Shraddha Bahukhandi describes herself as an artist at heart and a professor, architect, and urban planner by profession. Based in Uttarakhand, she found her way back to painting during the lockdown — "little did I know that lockdown would turn my life around like this" — and has been exploring her potential as a visual artist ever since. Art, she says simply, was always her escape.

That freedom shows in a practice that refuses to sit still in one style. Sadhu, painted in oils, carries a stillness and spiritual weight, while Cover Girl turns playful and a touch rebellious. The_waves, worked in acrylics, reaches for movement and emotion, and pieces like Warrior in pencil colours, Perception in chalk, and the acrylic Her show her choosing a different medium for whatever each idea needs.

Finding herself in the making

"I found myself when I was lost in art," she says — and you can feel that discovery in the range and the honesty of the work. Nothing here is over-explained; the paintings are simply left to speak for themselves.

Shraddha is featured on KalaCUBE, India's art marketplace by Musée Living, with work shown at the Musée Art Café in Dehradun — the café that became a home for handmade art. We warmly invite you to explore her paintings and to collect one that moves you. See more at kalacube.com/artist/proud_pahaadan, and read her feature on Musée Living at museeliving.com.
