“The places won't remember me, but I'll remember them through my photographs.”
Your friendly neighborhood photographer
Sahil Saxena calls himself "your friendly neighborhood photographer," working under a line that doubles as a philosophy: "The places won't remember me, but I'll remember them through my photographs." His practice is built on shifting angles and quiet observation, and his portfolio reads less like a gallery and more like a diary of careful, human attention.
The images themselves range widely in feeling. perspective plays with how we situate ourselves in the world, while Masoomiyat and Masoom — both drawn from the Hindi word for innocence — sit with purity and vulnerability. Snowclad Mussorie captures the hush of a hill station, and paint the sky red lets a little drama and defiance in. His work doesn't need to explain itself with words; it simply asks to be looked at, slowly.
Saxena is part of the community that grew up around Musée Living and the Musée Art Café in Dehradun — the roots that KalaCUBE now carries forward.
